It starts with a person who donates technology they don't use to Charge Forward. Once the device is picked up by our collection team, the device is wiped entirely of all information using native Microsoft, MacOS, ChromeOS or other appropriate Factory Data Wipe software to return the device to it's factory-programmed state.
RECEIVING A REQUEST
A student finds our website or one of our physical locations and fills out an anonymous form that outlines their specific circumstances so we can choose the best device for them, and build their software accordingly. They also assign themselves a 5-letter identification code that allows us to link them and their device, while still maintaining anonymity.
WE BEGIN WORK
Once we receive a request, we select the best computer for the student, and proceed to upgrade the operating system to the optimal version.
DELIVERY OF OPPORTUNITY
The student meets one of our members at the pickup location and confirms their code to ensure that they receive the correct device. If the student is unable to reach the location, we arrange to bring their device to them.
The student has their device, and we focus on the next student. The recipient is free to learn and explore however they like, no strings attached. If they have any questions or issues with their device, Charge Forward has a free assistance and maintenance program for them.
